Year 4 perform The Twits

We are so proud of our Year 4s for their incredible performance of Roald Dahl’s The Twits earlier this month. Says our Head of Drama, Mrs Shaun: “I am so pleased with the Year 4s and their dedicated approach to this play. Each and every child rose to the challenge. Well done to you all.”

The Perrott Hill Plodders

What a line up! The Perrott Hill Plodders beat The All Stars in a thriller of a match at the North Perrott Cricket Club last week by just three runs – with the team including OPHs, past and present parents, staff and assorted hangers on. A lasagne supper in the pavilion rounded off a very enjoyable evening – our thanks to all who came to join in the fun.

Year 7 French Trip

The Year 7 French trip was a success, with an array of informative trips including one to the Musée de la Grande Guerre in Meaux where pupils learnt all about the First World War. They met their penfriends earlier on in the week and had great fun getting to know them and practising their French.

Year 2 Show and Tell

Year 2 had a very cool Show and Tell session yesterday, with Stanley bringing in his motorbike and motocross trophies and George bringing in his drone. A great afternoon all round – and a big well done on your trophies Stan, we are very proud of you!

The Great Monster Bake Off

The boarders enjoyed a great monster ‘bake off’ this weekend with Miss White, Mr Sheldon and the rest of the boarding staff. The finished cakes went down well, too!

Year 5 History Trip

Year 5 enjoyed a fascinating history trip to Hooke Court yesterday, where they took part in a range of hands-on activities, including Tudor cooking, scribing and dressing up in Elizabethan finery.

U8s and U9s cricket coaching

It was great see our Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoying some cricket last week with our Level 2 cricket coach, Mr Bunday. He says: “The fundamental point of coaching children of this age is to instil a long-lasting love of sport, and it’s great to see our U8s and U9s having fun whilst developing skills to improve their overall game.”

The Golden Paintbrush award

Well done to Henry and Rose, who are worthy winners of Mrs Palmer’s ‘golden paintbrush’ award for their work on mixed media dragon designs. As a reward, their pieces of work will be framed and proudly displayed in the art room.

Forest School

Our Pre-Prep children have been having great fun in Forest School. As well as making wild garlic bread and building dens, Years 1 and 2 also made cars using a bill hook (and their sawing and whittling skills) and continued to sculpt their willow deer under the watchful eye of Mrs Palmer.
