Very well done to our Fencers, who competed in Epee, Sabre and Foil at the IAPS competition at Millfield this weekend – and our sincere thanks to our indefatigable coach, Nigel Carter, for his support on the day. We were so proud of the talent on display.
Our reception children are making the most of this glorious weather (and the views across the rolling hills of Somerset and Dorset) with some reading on the Front Terrace. Our school motto, time and space for a full education, certainly springs to mind!
Our Year 7s enjoyed a brilliant morning at the Od Arts Festival in East and West Coker on Friday, where they got to take a tour of the twine works, view an exhibition, speak to performance artist Isobel Adderley and work with lean artists Megan Calver and Gabrielle Hoad. Here they are taking part in a print workshop run by Double Elephant Print Workshop. Huge thanks to Perrott parents Simon and Chantelle for such superb organisation and a fantastic event; we are so pleased to have been a part of it.
Well done to Year 8 pupils Charlie and Jack, whose football team – the U13 Perry Street Youth Football Club – have become double champions this season by winning the Yeovil & District Division 1 League (the top division for their age group in the area) and the Division 1 Cup. Charlie plays Centre Back and Jack plays Centre Forward. It’s a remarkable achievement as it’s the first time a Perry Street Youth team has won the league since it started in 1903! Well done to you both, and to everyone in the team.
Year 7 have been writing some excellent reviews of their recent French trip using the past tense. Madame Brooks has also received some lovely comments from the places they visited during the trip, saying how impressed they were with our pupils’ commitment to speak French. Bon travail Year 7! Nous sommes fiers de vous.
Great to see this pic of Old Perrott Hillians Charlie and Ollie at the end of season academy festival at Harrow School. We always love hearing news of our OPHs, please send yours through to oph@perrotthill.com.
Well done to our U11 boys who reached the semi-finals at the Malvern College Cricket Eights today. A hugely enjoyable day with some great opposition – well done to everyone who played and thanks to Malvern for hosting!
Many thanks to our Head of Art, Mrs Palmer, for organising this collage of the Perrott Hill Manor House – produced by the children in under two hours during our recent Open Morning. It is an incredible piece of work!
Thanks to all our families and friends for a wonderful Summer Drinks Party on Friday, albeit inside due to the rain! The Grundy Hall was abuzz with positivity and it was great to welcome our new Headmaster for September, Alex McCullough, and his wife, Helen, into the Perrott family. We are very much looking forward to September!
A great afternoon of athletics last week at the Clayesmore School Athletics Meet, with lots of personal successes among our pupils. Many thanks to all at Clayesmore for a wonderful day.
