Geography

Geography lessons tackle issues surrounding the environment and sustainable living. Pupils also look at different societies and cultures; this helps them realise the inter-dependence of the world whilst inspiring them to think about their own place in the world, values, rights and responsibilities.

The location and grounds of the school provide an unrivalled resource for outdoors learning which enables geography at Perrott Hill to be both practical and informative. Geography in the prep school is taught by specialist teachers and in the Pre-Prep by class teachers and trained EYFS staff. This means that the teaching of Geography throughout the school is of a high standard and appropriate to the age and ability of the children. Results at Common Entrance are consistently high. Physical, environmental and human geography are studied with field trips to Tenby, the River Axe, Lulworth Cove, Hill Dairy Farm, Lyme Regis and other localities.
