Pupils in Years 3-5 flocked to Book Club to share their thoughts on Hannah Gold’s enchanting debut novel, ‘The Last Bear.’ The book, which follows a young girl called April who joins her father on a research trip to a remote Arctic outpost for six months, clearly had a profound effect on our readers; the children were keen to explain how it had shaped their thoughts on the environment and the dire consequences of global warming. Many thanks for the recommendation, Mr Silk!
