U10A Rounders v King’s Hall (H)

In extremely windy conditions and struggling to keep the posts upright, the girls put in their best performance of the season.  Consistent hitting and scoring in the first innings gave us 8 runs. We ran sensibly, securing half rounders when we could and taking risks at the right time. In the field we managed to hold them to 3 after 2 rotations and got two batters out through a great catch by Lucy and stumping from Mima. However, we let them turn a few hits that should only have been half rounders into rounders and they finished up 2 ½ ahead.  Runs were a little harder to come by in our second innings: we just could not find the gaps. Good halves from Jemima and Liberty and a very well run rounder from Ottilie pushed our total up to 12 ½ but we took the field knowing we would have our work cut out to defend that total. The effort and focus from the team was excellent and even though we came up short, the girls should feel good about their performance.  Fielder of the match went to Mima (great fielding at 2nd post) and batter of the match to Jemima (consistency and speed).

U10B Rounders v King’s Hall (A)

The rain held off for the period of time we were playing rounders. It was lovely to see the U10B girls, which included five U9 girls, playing in a match on such a windy day. Perrott was trailing in this match against King’s Hall. The girls gave lots of effort and made good improvements as the game progressed but King’s Hall, with several strong batters, always looked threatening to score. The game was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  Players batter of the match went to Amelia for some good half rounders.  Players fielder of the match went to Flora with some accurate throwing and fielding the ball.
