House Poetry in motion

March 14, 2017

Our House Poetry Recitations proved a huge success last week, with some stellar performances across the board. In the end, there could only be one winner per category – and the following pupils were singled out by guest judge Stephen Davies, English teacher and Housemaster at Bryanston School, for their outstanding recitals:

Lower Junior (Years 1-2): Florence K for Guess what happened at school today by Jez Alborough

Upper Junior (Years 3-4): William T for Cheetah by Charles Eglington

Lower Senior (Years 5-6): Ottilie B-P for The Scabadilly Pygmy which she wrote herself

Upper Senior (Years 7-8): Max B for Do not go gentle into that good night by Dylan Thomas

This was followed by Whole House recitations, with Mendips coming out on top for their superb rendition of Roald Dahl’s The Crocodile – which helped them become Overall Winners.

Well done to all.
